What we are looking for: Under the supervision of the Global Head, Total Portfolio Solutions, you will join a prominent multidisciplinary investment team and will add value by maintaining and enhancing proprietary total portfolio construction systems, and act as expert in financial modeling. The successful candidate is a team player with a can-do mindset and track record of execution who enjoys schematizing complex financial and business problematics into lasting solutions, leveraging his strong programming skills. About the Total Portfolio Solutions Group The Total Portfolio Solutions Group is Fiera's client focused and goal-based portfolio management business unit. The team employs a flexible and robust approach inspired by academic research to build tailored multi-asset class and fixed income solutions that maximizes the probability of achieving clients' goals.
The team works collaboratively with clients and their consultants to establish return objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity requirements, investment time horizons, and any specific constraints such as environmental, social and governance factors. The investment universe is established to determine the optimal portfolio according to the client's specific constraints and factors in the strategies and implementation capabilities available via the Fiera platform. Your responsibilities: As part of your duties, you will be assigned the following responsibilities:
- Support the development, implementation and automation of quantitative tools to support the design of custom fixed income and multi-asset class solution;
- Maintain the code and data infrastructure, proactively identifying operational risks and controlling them;
- Collaborate with other members of the team to ideate and deploy state-of-the-art quantitative solutions improving processes and analytics capabilities;
- Develop new tools to automate our processes and support client reporting;
- Maintain robust procedure and appropriate code structure documentation.
Must have requirements to be successful in this role:
- A degree in quantitative finance, actuarial science, mathematics, computer science or related field. An advanced degree is a strong advantage;
- Actuarial and / or financial professional designations or progress toward (e.g., FSA, CFA, CAIA, FRM, PRM or CQF) an asset;
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant work experience;
- Strong modeling knowledge for both assets and liabilities (e.g., defined benefit pension, insurance);
- Strong knowledge of Python and SQL is required, and experience in any other object-oriented programming language is an asset;
- Java and Power BI integration a plus;
- Applied quantitative skills is an asset;
- Acute interest for financial risk management and financial markets in an asset management context;
- Strong communication and technical writing skills ideally both in French & English (verbal and written);
- Effective time management and organizational skills;
- Ability to adapt to a complex and changing environment;
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
