Job Description

Airswift is seeking a Surface Land Analyst to work with one of our major clients in the Oil & Gas industry in Calgary, AB. This is a 1-year contract with the possibility of being extended.

As Surface Land Analyst, you will be working within the Surface Land team supporting the E&PS; (Environmental and Property Solutions) team as well as working collaboratively with the area Land Agent. Responsibilities include requesting and completing agreements for site access, including road use for end-of-life surface sites. The company presently has operating areas in Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia, Ontario, as well as operates in the Northwest Territories and North of 60.





Strong Surface Freehold land experience is a necessity.

The Surface Land Analyst (Contractor) would represent the company with the highest degree of professionalism and integrity when interacting with internal and external stakeholders. This contractor position will report to the Surface Land Manager and you will join a team of other land professionals, supporting the company's Surface Land portfolio. There may be an opportunity for this contract position to develop into a permanent position, based on company need.

Qualifications

Academic:

• 8 years+ experience as a Surface Land Analyst/administrator with a proven record working in a similar role

• Graduation from an accredited Surface Land Program or relevant experience

Specific responsibilities and skills would include:

• Prepare and process all documents required for land access for well-sites, pipelines, and remediation/reclamation sites

• Ensuring accurate management of the CS Explorer land system to assure data integrity and to comply with obligations







• Respond to external partner queries (landowners, third parties, queries from Controllers)

• Work closely with the company analysts (Global Business Center) on various tasks and assignments

• Attend E&PS; team meetings, as required

• Possess a solid understanding of current industry policies and regulations affecting surface rights

• Review, thoroughly understand and adhere to all Surface Land and Corporate procedures including business controls, cyber-security, and all other corporate policies

• Sound business judgment with effective analytical skills and a strong work ethic

• Strong communication, organization, and team skills and thrive on working in a fast-paced dynamic environment







• Working or advanced level knowledge of CS Explorer (or other land system), IHS AccuMap, SPIN, Abadata, and Microsoft Office suite

• Other projects, as assigned

Acquire and obtain access/lease, steward, monetize and/or divest surface and/or subsurface rights to deliver/protect value and mitigate risk across the asset life cycle, and provide advice on best practices and strategic cross-functional opportunities. Develop, negotiate and execute new commercial agreements (e.g., leases and right-of-ways), obtaining all functional alignment, as required. Analyze, manage and steward contracts, as needed (e.g., acreage and risk management, and compliance). Develop,





prioritize and recommend commercial concepts/structures for the acquisition and/or monetization of a business opportunity for new and existing assets. Acquire, trade, monetize or divest asset rights to deliver value. Manage and sustain external relationships relevant to own portfolio (e.g., government officials, land owners, service providers, and partners). Provide guidance to support development and execution of business strategies/plans. Negotiate and manage claim/dispute mitigation and resolution. Coordinate and/or determine land ownership, evaluate risks, and resolve title defects. Manage and coordinate contract personnel (field & in-house).





Provide litigation support.

Skills and Qualifications

Knowledge and experience with title, courthouse, alignment sheets, easement, and acquisition documents. Proficient in commercial negotiation, influence, internal and external relationship management.
