Our expertise in hard chrome plating allows us to deliver resilient, high performing components. And with 10 additional plating options, we have our customers plating needs covered.
Our Dartmouth office currently has an immediate need for a Plating Supervisor and we are looking for a leader to join our team of professionals.
We are Nova Scotia’s leader in Industrial Manufacturing since 1971. We provide equipment repair, manufacturing, machining, CNC, grinding and plating services to a wide range of industries. Our “All Under One Roof” philosophy stands at the core of our operations, allowing us to offer a seamless and integrated service experience.
Under the direction of the VP of Operations, the Plating Supervisor will oversee and lead the plating operations for the company. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing policies that prioritize the efficiency of products or services, supervising, troubleshooting and evaluating the performances processes and personnel, and setting standards and procedures that align with the goals of the company. For this position, you must be highly organized, flexible and have great attention to detail.
You must also be a strong, independent leader and lead by example each and every day. You operate with a strong focus on quality and you always ensure yourself and staff are complying with company policies and procedures.
Typical daily responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Supervise, coordinate and schedule activities of workers in the plating department - Troubleshooting challenges that arise with plating - Oversee the finishing process, which includes electroplating, finishes and coating process - Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality - Requisition materials and supplies - Train staff in job duties, safety procedures and company policies - Prepare production and other reports
Potential Applicants should have the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent job experience - 5+ years’ experience with the following: hard chrome plating, sulfamate nickel plating, zinc plating, and other plating finishes (e.g. passivation, silver, copper, tin, chromate conversion, phosphate, cadmium & Electroless nickel) - 1 to 2 years supervisory experience in a repair or manufacturing environment - Computer skills including Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Word & Excel) - Ability to read and follow instructions, blueprints and documents for each project
