More specifically, the OHS and environment advisor main responsibilities are to:
Act as a change agent within the business unit
Ensure the update and compliance of operational documents related to our occupational health and safety management systems, as well as standards and regulations
Conduct regular inspections,
recommend preventive or corrective measures and ensure follow-up
Actively participate in incident investigations, leading or supporting the teams involved
Communicate regularly with the corporate team to share potential improvements and OHS issues
Contribute to the annual review of OHS management systems and help identify priorities
Monitor operational activities on sites and vessels, identify hazards and analyze associated risks
Support and participate in various committees and working groups, as well as monitoring OHS training for workers and managers
Analyze OHS incident trends, ensure the implementation of preventive measures and ensure information transfer with the corporate team
In collaboration with our corporate health and safety team, you will help deploy prevention strategies, identify key indicators, and guide our operational teams on all our work sites.

College diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management, or equivalent
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a OHS prevention generalist
Experience in a company under federal or provincial jurisdiction and in a unionized environment
Experience in the shipping industry, an asset
Excellent knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations (CQHSER, Canada Labour Code, and other Canadian legislation)
Bilingual,
French and English, spoken and written
Autonomous in the use of MS Office software
Rigorous and organized
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to balance administrative tasks with on-site presence
Ability to work as part of a team
