PURPOSE:

The Manager, Business & Strategic Initiatives contributes to the overall success of ScotiaMcLeod in ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
In this role you will:

- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Manage projects and initiatives as assigned that require direct interaction with key stakeholders
- Manage and coordinate project phases from execution of project plans to project closeout.
- Secure appropriate resources and support to ensure initiatives are completed correctly, on time and on budget.






- Ensure internal and external escalation procedures are followed in a timely manner for prompt resolution on projects.
- Proactively identify and support implementation of initiatives and process, that contribute to efficient and effective operation of the business.
- Maintain an active list of initiatives, identify responsible stakeholders, and timelines to implement.
- Identify improvement opportunities and process efficiencies to create overall effectiveness while consulting with key partners and stakeholders.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles

DO YOU HAVE THE SKILLS
We’d love to work with you if you have:







- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Business Administration
- Project Management (PMP) and/or Lean Six Sigma certification is an asset
- 3+ years of experience in project management in the wealth management, banking or financial services industry, is an asset
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with outstanding business acumen and attention to detail
- Strong organization and project management skills, with the ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal for interacting with stakeholders with varying cross cultural and language differences






- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with other teams and senior executives
- Ability to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, partners, and external vendors
- Leadership skills in Building Strategic Relationships and Customer Focus
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
