Burgundy has an office and a cutting and polishing facility in Perth, Australia, an office in Calgary, Canada and a diamond sales office in Antwerp, Belgium.
Position Overview
As a member of the Communications Team, the Communications Specialist will report to the Senior Communications Advisor and will assist and support with a variety of communication initiatives.
This mat-leave replacement position is based in our Calgary office and will begin November 1, 2024
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Draft and edit communication planning documents for various initiatives or projects.
- Assist with enhancing and growing the Burgundy brand externally through compelling storytelling, article writing, key messages and press releases.
- Support the day-to-day operations of Burgundy’s internal communications; including updating content,
ensuring existing content is relevant, drafting internal employee communications and company announcements.
- Updating content and posting content to Burgundy’s external website.
- Assist in the preparation of various marketing and communications collateral such as posters, brochures, reports, newsletters, press releases and other materials.
- Assist with video creation and photoshoots as required.
- Social media support– create, post and monitor content for the company’s LinkedIn and Instagram accounts.
- Builds trusted relationships with business unit leaders and third-party contractors required to support communication initiatives.
- Miniman travel to site required
Education/Experience
- Undergraduate Degree in Communications or Public Relations,
or a related discipline.
- Minimum three years of communications experience.
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills needed to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.
- Change Management training experience an asset.
- Resource sectors experience and media relations an asset.
- Experience in communications media, video creation, branding and design.
- Proficient in MS suite; experience with Adobe Creative Suite – InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop or Canva an asset.
- Knowledge of print and digital production processes.
- Trustworthy and professional in dealing with confidential information.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to accurately analyze information and be adaptable to changing priorities.
- Positive attitude and entrepreneurial work ethic.

Additional Information
The Company provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
