Suspicious Transaction Reporting Manager to provide additional management support to oversee L5 Analyst for our large banking client - 80741

Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid - 3 days onsite per week to start during training. Subject to increase or reduction post training.

Job Description:
The Manager, Suspicious Transaction Reporting (STR) in Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering is accountable for managing, maintaining and enhancing the EAML Group’s operational processes to support CIBC’s AML program; and for assisting the Senior Manager,
FIU Regulatory Reporting in the execution of tasks leading to the oversight and control of regulatory reporting for the FIU. The Manager primarily oversees the daily operations of the STR data entry and filing process, which includes the gathering and inputting of transaction data to be submitted to FINTRAC on behalf of the investigative function. Depending on coverage requirements, the Manager must also have knowledge of LCTR team processes, which includes the creation, submission and ongoing maintenance of Large Cash Transaction Reports (LCTR) sent to FINTRAC. The Manager is accountable for the leadership, management and coaching of team members to develop and enhance their knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines and policy changes with respect to reporting requirements and ML/TF indicators. The Manager is also responsible for ensuring that data quality standards are adhered to and that all reports are submitted to the regulator as soon as practicable in order to remain compliant.
The Manager proactively identifies opportunities for improvements within the workflow and supporting processes and partners with other EAML pillars and technology to enhance and advance CIBC’s EAML Program.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Manages daily operations by ensuring that all STR data entry and filing requests submitted to the team mailbox are distributed in a timely manner.
• Regularly reviews daily/weekly/monthly productivity and quality results, coaches team members accordingly.
• Provides oversight and control on work in progress, ensuring all requests are tracked and that applicable reports are created and submitted to FINTRAC as soon as practicable.
• Provides ongoing administrative/operational support to the FIU,
including the tracking and reconciliation of applicable STR details for all requests processed by the team.
• Develops and promotes a deep understanding of regulatory requirements
• Proactively identifies gaps and opportunities in existing AML systems or workflows and recommends enhancements to the appropriate stakeholders in order to improve operational effectiveness.
• Works closely with investigative teams to identify new requirements and to recommend process and system enhancements.
• Performs project/process management duties for operational deployment projects, such as end to end process design, creation of procedures and participation in regulatory change initiatives.
• Provides leadership and effective management of business unit staff to influence employee commitment to the organization and to the team.

Must Have Requirement:
· 4-7 years experience in AML (Anti-Money Laundering)
· 4-7 years in banking
· Prior people leader experience
Nice to Have:
· Knowledge of AML investigations (Anti-Money Laundering)
· related FIU operational processes (Financial Intelligence Units)
· Understanding of recent regulatory changes that impact Suspicious Transaction Reporting
