AME (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer) Mechanic.

Job Description:
Responsibilities
- The technician is responsible for checking and maintaining the condition of aircraft and engines, performing repairs, replacements and adjustments, in accordance with approved maintenance procedures.
- He is responsible to the Production Manager for the execution of tasks assigned by the Chief Engineer or the Production Manager. The AME/Technician ensures that all work is carried out in accordance with policies and procedures defined locally and by Transport Canada.
- Perform verification inspections, if trained,
as directed by the Chief Engineer or Production Manager and maintain the integrity of all issued documents.
- Interpret plans, specifications, standards and written technical instructions and refer any questions to the team leader.
- Ensure that the workshop and tools are kept in a clean and safe condition.
- Work with manager and colleagues to understand the big picture. Make adjustments as needed to best achieve goals, including informing others of issues that may affect their goals.
- Disassemble, inspect, record anomalies, recommend and record repair methods.
- Install, assemble and perform all other mechanical functions and test in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
Skills and qualifications
- Diploma from an accredited professional institution with training in mechanics
- At least 3 to 5 years of experience in general aircraft assembly, fabrication and installation related to mechanics.
- Proven ability to interpret plans, specifications, standards and written technical instructions.
- Soft Skills:
Strong communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Experience with Twin Otter aircraft and systems is considered an asset.
- A valid M1 or M2 license is considered an asset.
Experience required
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sector.
