Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician based in our site at Kearl Lake, AB. This position is on a 14/14 shift schedule, working 10 hours per day,
with camp accommodations available with flights from Edmonton or Calgary.
POSITION: Heavy Duty Technician - Red Seal, Journeyperson.
LOCATION: Kearl Lake, AB. Camp accommodations with FIFO from Edmonton or Calgary.
WORK SCHEDULE: 14 days on, 14 days off, working 10 hours per day (70-hrs/week).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Troubleshooting, inspecting, and cleaning equipment, testing machinery, and repairing and servicing the Sterling equipment fleet.
- Estimate the cost of repairs, order parts and track fleet maintenance in the Sterling Preventative Maintenance Program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Required.
- Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required.
- Must supply own basic hand tools, and possessing a valid Class 5 driver’s license is required.
- The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A strong working knowledge of Link-Belt, Liebherr,
Grove and Tadano crane manufacturers is an asset.
- Possessing a valid Class 1 or 3 would be considered an asset.
- The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 955 or become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.
IMPORTANT:
- Ideally, the successful candidate would be local to the Fort McMurray regions, however camp accommodations with FIFO from Edmonton and Calgary are offered for this position.
- As a safety sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidates successfully pass pre-employment testing that may include Drug and Alcohol screening.
