Job Title: IT Specialist
Location: Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada

Job Overview:
As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our IT systems,
ensuring optimal performance, and providing technical support to our staff. You will play a
crucial role in implementing and supporting technology solutions that align with our business
objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support: Provide day-to-day technical support to end-users, including
troubleshooting hardware and software issues, diagnosing problems, and offering
solutions.
System Maintenance: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT
infrastructure, including servers, networks, and workstations. Ensure systems are
secure, up-to-date, and running efficiently.
Network Management: Manage and monitor network performance, including
connectivity, security, and data integrity. Implement and maintain network policies and
procedures.
Security: Implement and enforce IT security policies to protect the organization’s data
and systems. Perform regular security audits and manage backup and disaster recovery
processes.
Vendor Management:
Coordinate with external vendors and service providers to ensure
timely and effective resolution of issues and delivery of services.
Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and
procedures. Prepare and update user manuals and technical documentation.
Project Management: Assist with the planning and execution of IT projects, including
system upgrades, software implementations, and technology integrations.
Training: Provide training and support to staff on new technologies and best practices to
enhance productivity and technology adoption.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a
related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience:
2-4 years of experience in IT support or a similar role. Experience in
managing network systems and security is preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and common
software applications.
Experience with networking technologies, including routers, switches, and
firewalls.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of IT security principles and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
