The Government of Alberta (GoA) offers a unique opportunity to join the Ministry of Mental Health and Addiction (MHA), dedicated to improving mental health and addiction services across the province. Within the Financial Services Division, you’ll support the Executive Director of Financial Services and Planning and play a vital role in supporting efficient operations that directly impact community well-being. This position as an Executive Assistant also supports the Executive Director of Capital Project and Planning. Both Branches foster collaborative and supportive work environments, emphasizing professional growth and teamwork. Located in Alberta, this role allows you to contribute meaningfully while advancing your career within a committed and innovative organization.

The Ministry also liaises with the Office of the Alberta Health Advocates and Alberta Health Services.

Qualifications

Minimum Recruitment Standard:





High school diploma and three years of directly related experience.

Equivalency: Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

Required Experiences/Skills

- Administrative Support Experience: Providing high-level administrative support in a fast-paced environment, including calendar management and document preparation.
- Budget Management: Monitoring budgets, processing expenses,





and maintaining financial records.
- Human Resources Coordination: HR processes, including onboarding, attendance tracking, and vacation management.

Assets

- Experience in Government Settings: Working within a government or public service environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in using government systems and software such as 1GX, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Project Management Skills: Managing or coordinating projects, ensuring timelines and objectives are met.
- Records Management Knowledge: Understanding of best practices in records management and information governance.
- Customer Service Orientation: Service delivery and responsiveness to client needs.
- Training and Development Experience:





Training or mentoring staff in administrative processes or systems.

Hours of Work

- 7.25 daily hours
- 36.25 weekly hours
- 8:15AM to 4:30PM (Monday to Friday)
