Senior Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper

St. Thomas Developments Inc. is a real estate development company, and we are seeking a Senior Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper to join our accounting team. Accounting experience in the real estate development industry is an asset.

Location:

Downtown, Toronto

Responsibilities for this position include processing subcontracts and regular accounts payable while maintaining appropriate financial documentation through an organized system of filing. Other responsibilities include preparing monthly draw reports, performing full cycle bookkeeping duties, as well as providing assistance to the financial controller, as needed.

Key responsibilities:

- Oversee the maintenance of books of account (including preparing cheques,





coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, journal entries and reconciliations)
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Review invoices for potential errors and/or discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly draw reports for management and financial institutions.
- Prepare and file government reporting such as HST, and T5018 returns.
- Maintain an up-to-date, complete and systematic filing system to support book-keeping and financial records.
- Other duties & projects assigned by the financial controller.

Technical Requirements

- Minimum post-secondary education in the accounting field (university degree or college diploma with a concentration in accounting, or equivalent)
- 2-3 years of accounting and bookkeeping experience is a MUST.
- Experience with QuickBooks is an asset.






- Previous experience in the real estate development industry is an asset.
- Proficiency with MS software programs such as Excel, Word, Outlook etc.
- Proficiency in Chinese is a Plus.
