Key Responsibilities:

- Maintaining, repairing and servicing the production/packaging equipment daily
- Day-to-day trouble shooting and solving problems with high-speed packaging machinery
- Pro-actively inspect and examine machinery/equipment to detect any irregularities and malfunctions
- Perform machining requirements, which include the proper use of lathes, mills, surface grinders, drill press, welding and brazing equipment and other machine shop related practices
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls
- Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery






- Keeping equipment, maintenance and service reports up to date, escalating any problems/issues where necessary
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Install, align, take apart and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Excellent communication skills as dealing with other staff, departments and contractors
- Always adhering to company Health and Safety procedures
- Managing a Millwright Mechanic Apprentice

This position is scheduled Monday-Friday, during the day.

Experience and Qualifications:

- 5 years of Millwright/Mechanical experience in packaging industry considered advantageous
- Red Seal Certification
- Must have welding experience; experience with plumbing and pipefitting an asset
- Knowledge of computerized machinery
- Ability to read technical specifications and blueprints
- Strong communication skills, verbally and written






- Team player with proven ability to work collaboratively
- Mathematical and mechanical ability
- Understanding lock-out procedures and excellent knowledge of safety standards
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
