Full job description
Crystallina Early Learning Centre is looking to hire Early Childhood Educators, Level 2 and Level 3 positions with at least 2 year working experience. Multiple positions available for full time shifts for daycare, evening part time and split shift &/ or part time for before and after school care.
Valid criminal record check and first aid are required.
We are looking for someone who is energetic, hard working and punctual. A love for children is a must. You will be helping care for, teach, love and educate these little ones. They are our number one priority!
Duties will include:
* Read, know, and abide by the policies and procedures of the center as outlined in the center’s Policy & Procedure Handbook.
* Daily written program planning is evident and activities are prepared and ready for the children in care. Planning reflects the interests of children, is age-appropriate, and meets their developmental needs in all areas.
*Makes the decisions on room setup, planning, etc. but encourages input from his/her partner and validates his/her ideas.
*Is familiar with emergency procedures and executes these procedures as outlined in the Emergency Procedures Handbook, in case of an emergency. He/She also directs their partner in completing his/her roles in case of emergency.
*Works with the Program Director in evaluating the needs of the children in care.
*Brings concerns to the Program Director regarding incidents with children, parents, and/or other staff if the issues cannot be resolved on its own.
*Is aware of number of children in attendance at all times and maintains the staff-child ratios at all times in his/her own room.
*Interacts positively with children and guides them in their daily experiences.
* Speaks with parents, staff, and children in a professional & respectful manner.
*Is responsible for administration of medication to children or delegates this responsibility to his/her partner as long as he/she has a valid first aid certificate.
*Attends all staff meetings and daycare functions.
*Ensures that room daily and weekly chores/duties are completed. These duties include: toy washing, laundry, room sanitization, etc.
*Dresses appropriately for work. Clothing worn should be comfortable, clean, and covers all the essentials. Provocative clothing or any apparel bearing inappropriate slogans/messages will not be permitted.
