Montreal City Guide
City Unscripted is looking for passionate and knowledgeable hosts to join our team in Montreal to deliver private and personalized walking experiences to small groups of travelers (usually 2-4 people). We are looking for locals who are knowledgeable about Montreal's food, history, culture, and art.
Our guides are friendly and engaging people who are enthusiastic about showing visitors both the hidden gems and/or tourist attractions in their town.
Our experiences are all personalized to the guest’s wishes & interests and, as a guide,
it is up to you to show them the areas of the city you think they will most enjoy. Upon the experience (tour) you receive a detailed summary about your guests (age, interests, what they would like to visit, etc) and you are also able to communicate with them before the meeting, to make sure you have all the information you need to plan a memorable adventure in the city together.
The experiences themselves last between 2 - 8 hours and are either 'Introductions to the city' or topics specific (food and drink, day trips, etc) based on your interests and skill set.
The City Unscripted team only matches you to bookings you would enjoy and you would be a good fit for (based on shared interests and passions with guests). And don’t worry, there is never any obligation to take a booking, and with us, you can decide to work as much or as little as you wish.
It is a freelance role with flexible working days and hours to fit your schedule.
Basic Requirements
- Lived in Montreal minimum of two years
- English:
Native/Advanced
- Legally allowed to work as a freelancer in Montreal
- Passionate about the city and sharing it with travelers
- Tour guide license or experience hosting advantageous
