Communications Coordinator

Type: Full-Time, Non-Union

St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre is a campus of care, encompassing the County of Brant's largest Long-Term Care facility with 205 beds as well as Stedman Community Hospice, providing 24-hour care while exemplifying SJLCB's Mission, Vision and Values.

The Communications Coordinator will support St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre’s Communication Strategy. They will work collaboratively with colleagues to support corporate communications across the organization and assist in developing and editing written and visual content for all communications platforms (website, newsletters, social media, digital information boards).





They will also assist in developing and maintaining branding standards across the organization.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & SUCCESS CRITERIA:

Reporting to the Vice President, People & Strategy, this role is responsible for:

- Supporting the execution of the corporate communications strategy and organizational priorities.
- Developing, designing, and formatting communications and marketing tools with a consistent look and feel.
- Producing written and visual content for internal and external audiences that is accessible, professional, and engaging.
- Editing and updating website content.
- Responding to social media inquiries.
- Developing communications collateral that can include news releases, social media content, newsletters, stories, and other digital and/or print materials.
- Coordinating communications related to various special events.
- Tracking and reporting on communications objectives and key performance indicators across platforms.
- Conducting research and bringing forward recommendations for communications activities to support corporate initiatives.






- Organization and preservation of digital marketing assets (photos, newsletters, media articles, etc.).

This position may be required to perform additional related job functions beyond this description.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

- University-level education in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or similar field.
- 1-3 years experience in communications and/or public relations.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to manage and engage in a diverse working environment.
- Exceptional spelling and editing skills.
- Strong computer skills and excellent knowledge of MS Office programs and Survey Monkey.
- Experience with design programs (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and tools (Canva).






- Experience using social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), Google Analytics, and Hootsuite.
- Experience developing and implementing measurable and engaging communications activities that include a wide range of materials, content, and platforms.
- Experience with media monitoring and data collection and analysis for media reports, social media, and other associated communication activities.
- Leadership skills and effective time management with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
- Some marketing experience is an asset.
- Experience with event planning is an asset.
