We are looking for a Coordinator to manage the day-to-day operation of the Coop and work closely with the Board of Directors and Committees. Swansea Village Cooperative is committed to equity in employment and encourages people from diverse groups to apply.
Swansea Village Cooperative is a 96-unit housing coop made up of three low-rise buildings along the west border of High Park in the Swansea neighborhood of Toronto. We are a multicultural community that singles, couples, families with children and seniors call home.
The Coordinator is expected to work onsite, Full-time, 35 hours a week, with one evening shift a week. Please note, this is a Temporary, Contract position of 18 months.
Responsibilities include:
1.
Financial planning and control
2. Legal, arrears, and subsidy administration
3. Property maintenance and development
4. Membership administration
5. General office administration
6. Supervision of full-time maintenance worker and part-time cleaner
7. Community Development
8. Attend monthly Board of Directors meetings
Qualifications:
1. Minimum of 5 yrs experience managing the operations of a housing coop
2. Excellence in financial management
3. Experience in supervising staff and overseeing contractors
4. Good knowledge of the Rental Assistance Program in Federal co-ops and the Cooperative Corporations Act
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, NewViews for Non-Profits and HMWorx an asset
6. Knowledge of the Ontario Building and Fire Codes
7. Experience in acting as a resource reporting to and supporting the Board of Directors, committees,
and for community development work
8. Excellent writing skills for preparation of correspondences and reports and minute-taking at meetings.
