Afternoon Shift: Mon - Thurs, 4pm - 2am
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Work Location: 90 Belfield road, Etobicoke M9W 1G4
As a Mechanical Assembler, you will…
- Assemble basic mechanical parts. Utilize hand tools and power tools to fasten screws, bolts, and other hardware to secure components in place, ensuring proper torque and alignment.
- Inspect mechanical components meticulously to identify any defects,
ensuring they meet strict quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of tasks performed, deviations, and any quality concerns.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols while handling tools, equipment, and materials. Report any safety hazards promptly.
- Complete in-house training to learn how to read basic blueprints and Bills of Materials (BOLs).
- Use an overhead crane, ladders, and other material handling equipment to move and position materials for assembly.
- Meet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards.
- Understand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules.
Additional Functions
- Work with departmental mentors to gain and apply feedback in pursuit of improved work quality.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Who are we looking for? Someone who has…
- 0-1 year of experience in assembly with a desire to learn electrical/mechanical assembly processes, follow assembly instructions, and use various hand/power tools to assemble products.
- Proficient in performing precise and delicate tasks using hands and fingers. Able to manipulate small objects, operate tools, and handle intricate equipment effectively.
- Good attention to detail, with the ability to determine accurate order quantities consistently.
- Ability to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments.
- Basic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate measurements and weights.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools.
- Ability and willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures accurately, reporting concerns promptly to the safety action team.
- Capable of embracing diversity and equity to ensure they contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
Preferred
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement manufacturing principles.
