Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer for Sofina Canada, the Director, Operations Performance applies disciplined analytics and entrepreneurial insights to drive superior performance and business excellence across the organization in North America.
Key Accountabilities
- Collaborate cross-functionally, with the primary objective to develop, implement, and adopt a continuous improvement focus resulting in superior business results.
- Identify opportunities through a detailed understanding of the activities underlying costs of operations, and design and implement changes that will maintain competitive advantage.
- Review and revise the workforce plans /crew guides for each site.
- Support automation projects with business case development and impacts to workforce plans.
- Identify opportunities to optimize the use of temporary labour against permanent labour needs.
- Lead the review and proposal of structure overtime reduction in each site operation.
- Apply relevant business insights and knowledge to generate sound decision-making within the company’s Operational activities.
- Collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance leaders to manage operating costs and drive operational excellence.
- Question with rigor, deep-diving decisions, and challenge the Operations team to improve outcomes.
- Use disciplined analysis, modeling, and forecasting to inspire and drive superior performance.
- Continuous Improvement of performance reporting and decision-making methodology to support the growing business.
Requirements
- Relevant Post-Secondary education in finance with an accounting designation – CPA/MBA is preferred.
- 10 years plus experience in a manufacturing environment within the Consumer Packaged Goods industry is preferred.
- Demonstrated solid business acumen and sound decision-making skills.
- Thoroughness, curiosity, and attention to detail
- Experience with an ERP system and strong computer skills including advanced spreadsheet modeling.
- Travel required as per business need
