We are seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead through this exciting time of growth for Customer Unit (CU) Canada.

As the Chief Technology Officer for Customer Unit Canada, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the long-term Network Strategy Vision, and drive Market Area North America (MANA) CU Canada’s technology position with our Canadian customers. This role demands a blend of technical expertise, market insight,





and leadership skills to drive innovation and improve customer and stakeholder engagement for Ericsson in Canada. You will also lead a team of technical professionals to provide depth to strategic priorities and advising on Networks and Cloud Software and Services (CSS) evolution.

This role reports to the Head of CU Canada and is based in Toronto.

You will:

- Be responsible for defining MANA CU Canada’s long-term network strategy and lead Strategic Focus Area engagements on network performance, transformation, and monetization for our customers and other external stakeholders relevant for the Canadian market.
- Lead a large team of senior technologists across all Ericsson business area domains.
- Lead end-to-end network transformation programs in collaboration with our customers with an emphasis on proactive, predictive technology roadmap planning.
- Secure an in-depth understanding of competition, market situations, and customer dynamics to build customer-centric proposals and solutions that uniquely address customer needs.






- Advocate for the customer and Canadian long-term market needs, partner closely with Business Areas, Domains and Group Function organizations; leverage deep connections to secure customer needs are related back to the Business Areas, Domains and Group Function organizations to influence strategies, roadmaps, and solutions.
- Facilitate and support generation of sales by supporting the CU Head and VP Sales in direct customer dialogues, sharing experience as well as knowledge of Ericsson technology and offerings to senior customer levels (SVP and C-level).
- Lead and support innovation activities (PoCs, Trials etc.) as well as customer events through the Technology team in collaboration with Marketing and Communications and KAM teams.






- Represent Ericsson in public events as Technology authority towards the customer and other stakeholder events.
- Be a role model in embedding Ericsson on the Move’s Five Focus Areas within the organization and drive Diversity and Inclusion throughout their organization and activities.

To be successful in the role you must have:

- Proven experience in leading large-scale network transformation projects.
- Proven disruptor capabilities with a track record of challenging the status quo.
- Good understanding of Cloud RAN, O-RAN, 5G SA core, cloud-native technologies in general and related open interfaces.
- In-depth knowledge of 4G and 5G networks and related technologies.
- Experience in collaborating with external partners and vendors.






- Excellent leadership and strategic planning skills with a track record of leading and developing high-performing teams, including virtual and remote teams.
- Understanding of sustainability-centered technology offerings.
- Excellent ability in presenting relevant business and industry insights to drive the business forward, along with strong public speaking and communication skills.
- Good listener with very high interest and curiosity to understand our customers specific challenges and needs.
- Demonstrated collaboration, working closely with Domains, Customer Units, and Business Areas (BAs).
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred) in relevant science or engineering with minimum of 10 years in the technology industry.
- Minimum of 3 years leading in a matrix environment.
