As our Structural Engineer, you'll get to work on a variety of challenging projects, from designing buildings to industrial facilities. [ A day in the life of a structural engineer at co-elevate ]

- Run computer model simulation and hand verification on multi-story structures under the guidance of a seasoned professional engineer.
- Conduct drawing review to ensure conformance to designs and seal drawings as needed.
- Attend co-elevate’s group events such as potlucks, lunch & learns, book club, etc.






- Participate in one of co-elevates charity causes such as blood drives, toy drives, food drives, or seasonal in-house charity events.
- At the end of a long day, it is commonplace for our leadership to send staff members home to ensure work-life balance.

[ What we seek in a structural engineer ]

- Experienced in the design and construction of multiple structure types and materials (steel, wood, masonry, concrete, etc.).
- Process computer model simulation and hand verification on multi-story structures under the guidance of a seasoned professional engineer.
- Able to learn new structure types, heights, and configurations.
- Working knowledge of structural analysis software such as ETABS, SAFE, SAP, S-FRAME.






- Contribute to the development of junior engineers by providing engineering guidance and facilitate full understanding of the project(s).
- Define clear goals for all aspects of a project and develop steps for their proper execution.
- Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions.
- Account for potential project issues and proactively problem solve.
- Conduct drawing review to ensure conformance to designs and seal drawings as needed.
- Attend a stand-up meeting with your scrum team to discuss yesterday’s challenges and plan for the day’s tasks.
- This role may require some overtime hours on occasion.
- Ability to undergo applicable screening.
- Own transportation and/or a valid driver's license.

[ The minimum qualifications, experience and skills are required ]







- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering from an Accredited University.
- Minimum 4 years related work experience.
- An understanding of the Ontario Building Code.
- Strong attention to detail; mathematical and analytical aptitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Adept at functioning in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary consulting environment.
- Ability to acquire and understand new information (i.e., structure types, building heights and configurations).
