Job Description

Assurance and Advisory (A&A;) provides independent and objective assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of CPP Investments’ governance processes and internal controls. Reporting directly to the Head of A&A; (Chief Audit Executive), the A&A; Managing Director - Technology & Data will be focused on maximizing the value delivered on Technology & Data audits and advisory engagements, and strategic and transformational projects. You will be a key partner to the business, leveraging your expertise in Technology & Data governance, risk management and internal controls, as well as strong business acumen and advanced problem-solving.

Role-Specific Accountabilities

Execution Leadership







- Oversee the effective planning and execution of Technology & Data audits including:
- setting the objectives and scope of audits in accordance with the Annual Plan;
- developing work programs which focus on the key risks to the organization;
- ensuring adherence to our Audit Manual and the Institute Standards in all the work we do;
- identifying insightful findings and proactively discussing these with management;
- producing informative and concise reports for management; and
- monitoring and following up on corrective actions.

- Provide subject-matter expertise on technology & data risks and oversee the evaluation of IT controls.
- Support the development of and oversee continuous monitoring activities, identify emerging technology & data risks, and propose changes to the Audit Plan where required.
- In addition to delivery of the Audit Plan, provide advisory services, while maintaining objectivity and independence.
- Demonstrate agility to anticipate, adapt and pilot approaches that create value.
