Job Summary
TheSpecialist, Labour Relations(LR)and Human Resources(HR)Compliance,is responsible forcoordinating activities,





especially data reporting and metrics, and supporting projects and recurring programs within the Compliance team, while also providing support to the larger LR team. The rolesupports day-to-day operationsand ensuresHR Compliance and LR processes areproperlydocumented.Moreover, the incumbent coordinates essential tasks that ensure CN is compliant with collective agreements and employment legislation in Canada and handles confidential information related to grievances and complaints. The role liaises with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and Information and Technology (I&T;) acting as an LR systems superuserensuring users have training and access to the systems.
Main Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Activities
- Prepare and distribute reports to meet Compliance requirements and LR business needs,enablingend users to run their own reports where possible
- Track complaints, issues and legal cases that implicate HRandLR,pullingreports and analyzes data for trends






- Support the harassment complaints resolution process, especially communications with workplace committees
- Updateandcirculate a briefing document highlighting the potential or actual impact oflegislative changes
- Provideon-boarding and first-level support to users of LR systems, referringrequests and incidents to HRISandI&T; or vendorswhenappropriateand works with HRIS,I&T; or vendor to resolve them
- Draft presentations and other communications at the request of the Compliance team and LR leadership
Special Projects
- Develop new processes to improve team efficiency and effectiveness
- Explore new ways to share and present data to support compliance and LR business needs






- Collaborate with HRIS,I&T; and liaises with the LR team to realize a smooth transition to new LR software systems and processes
Working Conditions
The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday.Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure and stress.The incumbent must be available to work evenings and weekends when necessary.The role requires minimal travel(5%).
Requirements
Experience
Compliance
- Minimum 2 years of experience in an office setting
- Experience in interpreting and applying collective agreements and relevant federal employment legislation
- Experience in building strong and positive relationships with stakeholders
Education /Certification/Designation






- Bachelor'sDegree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, or related discipline

- Understanding of or ability to learnGrievance Tracking System (GTS),Performance Assessment Process (PAP),Systems, Applications and Products (SAP),
