Job Description

Based in the Child, Youth and Emerging Adult Program, the donor funded Cundill Centre is a vibrant clinical research Centre dedicated to understanding and addressing child and youth depression. The Cundill Centre is developing best practices for the screening, prevention and treatment of child and youth depression, revolutionizing research, care and knowledge exchange in the field by addressing key evidence gaps. To achieve this goal,





the Centre involves a large network of national and international scientists, clinicians and experts working in collaboration with youth, families and key stakeholders.

Reporting directly to the Research Operations Manager and working closely with Cundill Scientists and the CH&E; Coordinator, CAMH is currently seeking a full-time, contract (12 months) Research Analyst to support variety of research activities related to the Cundill Centre for Child and Youth Depression. This position will involve expertise and knowledge around youth, young adults and/or families experiencing mental health or substance use challenges, as well as patient-oriented research and patient engagement. The ideal candidate will be capable of conducting daily tasks with minimal supervision on projects overseen by Cundill Centre Scientists. The successful candidate will work on studies addressing youth, young adults and/or families experiencing mental health or substance use challenges. The role will require experience preparing and submitting research ethics board applications,





maintaining participant records and study documents, supporting the recruitment of participants, and execution of surveys and interviews/focus groups. The successful candidate will be responsible for engaging with knowledge users, disseminating findings, and preparing data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers. The candidate may also be required to assist with other administrative duties as necessary. Previous experience engaging in knowledge exchange activities, learning from and sharing knowledge directly with patients, their families and the public is an asset. The individual will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork,





and complies with all applicable CAMH policies and regulatory and legislative requirements. This position is primarily located at 80 Workman Way.

Job Requirements

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or neuroscience combined with one (1) year of relevant clinical or research experience with youth, young adults and/or families with mental health challenges.

- Previous experience in screening, recruiting, and leading the informed consent process with research participants is required.
- Must have demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Office administrative skills and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages (Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access) is also a requirement.

- Research, organizational,





and time management skills are required. Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, professionalism, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively as a team member as well as independently are all requirements.
- The ideal candidate will have the ability to multitask and produce high quality, accurate work while meeting program deadlines.
- Proficient with REDCap, Adobe Acrobat, SPSS, and NVivo software is important.
- Experience in conducting literature searches and collecting data is preferred. Understanding of knowledge exchange and experience with a range of knowledge exchange methods are considered assets.






- Understanding of the social determinants of health and the principles of health equity and how they apply in the context of evidence and knowledge exchange is an asset.
- The ability to work with stakeholders of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds is essential, as is an appreciation of diversity. Bilingualism (French/English) would be an asset.
