The salary range for this position is CAD $41.42/Hr. - CAD $55.91/Hr.
Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, the Staff Nurse:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to support patients/residents in meeting physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs.
- Develop and revise individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Incorporate teaching into care plans and make referrals to other resources as needed.
- Share clinical knowledge with other nurses and healthcare professionals, demonstrating procedures.
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary framework, adhering to BCCNP Standards of Practice.
- Ensure care aligns with Providence Health Care’s mission, vision, values, and protocols.
Education
- Current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives, or in Residential Care and Mental Health, current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Two years' recent experience working in a tertiary care emergency department and/or two years' recent medical/surgical experience with an approved post-basic emergency nursing specialty program.

- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) procedures appropriate for the area of service.

Your Day to Day:
- Assess and evaluate patient/resident status through chart reviews, interviews, and consultations with healthcare team members.
- Develop, implement, and revise care plans based on clinical judgement and evidence-based practice.
- Provide nursing care according to PHC standards, policies, and procedures.
- Monitor patient/resident progress, evaluate outcomes, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Perform crisis management and life-saving nursing interventions.
- Document assessments, care plans, progress, and discharge plans in manual or electronic systems.
- Address patient/resident and family learning needs,
offering educational resources and group sessions.
- Guide and support other healthcare staff in patient care and teamwork.
- Participate in nursing orientation, in-service education, and knowledge sharing with colleagues.
- Collaborate on care policy planning, quality improvement initiatives, and research activities.
