Full job description

Based in Winnipeg, TDG is seeking a Chief Information Officer (CIO) to join our team. This role reports to the CEO and serves as a key member of TDG’s highly engaged and high-performing leadership team. As part our Shared Services Platform, supporting multiple brands in Canada and the U.S., this position works across a broad set of business and technology stakeholders to spearhead the technology strategy and execution for The Dufresne Group TDG and Dufresne Spencer Group (DSG).

This role requires a visionary leader who can align IT operations with our company’s strategic objectives,





ensuring that our technology infrastructure not only supports the business but drives innovation. The CIO will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation, helping the organization to stay ahead in a competitive retail environment.

As the Chief Information Officer, your key accountabilities will include:

- Creating and executing a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with TDG’s business goals, ensuring technology is a driver of innovation, operational efficiency, and guest experience.
- Leading all elements of IT technology that delivers a consistent, reliable, and optimized business and operational experience for all users as well as external providers, customers and clients.
- Working with Senior Leadership and other business areas on the service portfolio and governance required to prioritize resources and develop a multi-year roadmap.






- Creating and aligning an IT value map by linking targeted business outcomes with the future state business capabilities required to achieve them.
- Overseeing the security of TDG’s IT systems, data privacy, and compliance with regulatory requirements, ensuring effective risk management and disaster recovery plans are in place.
- Championing IOS involvement in the IT organization’s innovation efforts and its role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of business opportunities.
- Managing the IT budget and ensuring cost-effective technology investments.
- Establishing strong relationships with vendors to ensure efficient delivery of services and products.
- Identifying, recommending, planning and executing implementation of new systems and processes.
- Introducing innovative,





differentiating infrastructure and operations capabilities that enhance our overall competitive capabilities and enhance team member productivity.
- Directing testing and development of procedures for disaster recovery and network and system upgrades/changes.
- Overseeing the creation of project plans, resource allocation, task definitions, project estimations, business requirements review and project/release status updates.
- Directing the IOS sourcing strategy and providing executive oversight for strategic vendor and partner relationship management.
- Monitoring the regulatory environment’s impact on security programs and initiatives, including the examination of overall security posture and program effectiveness.
- Utilizing data analytics to inform business decisions,





providing leadership with actionable insights into customer behavior, operational efficiency, and market trends.
- Championing the development and implementation of policies, standards and guidelines related to data, network and system security, disaster recovery and business continuity.
- Managing, hiring and developing best-in-class IT talent to support the organization’s rapid growth and increasing investment in technology.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

- Degree in computer science, business, and/or applied experience with certifications. A combination of education and experience will be considered.






- 10+ years of senior leadership experience as an IT leader with proven capability to motivate change and galvanize action through synthesis and interpretation of Infrastructure and operational data.
- Experience in managing muti locations and leading distributed work teams.
- Experience leading and managing large IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructures across various technologies in a multi-site environment.
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network communications, systems administration, databases, and phone systems.
- A team player with outstanding technical skills, excellent problem-solving skills and demonstrated leadership ability.
- Demonstrated ability to foster relationships, build trust, and have a proven record of working independently and delivering on commitments.






- Possession of strong strategic vision with the ability to develop and implement a forward-thinking IT strategy that aligns with organizational long-term goals and supports business growth.
- Strong technical aptitude with very high attention to detail and interest surrounding leverage of technology and tools to gain efficiencies and insights.
- Demonstrated ability to make effective decisions while working through complex issues, program, and business interest-related issues.
- High level of resourcefulness, flexibility, and creativity in solving problems.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to motivate and lead professionals.
