Sunbeam Community & Developmental Services is a non-profit, multi-site, multi-faceted organization that is committed to serving individuals living with complex developmental, intellectual, behavioural, and/or physical disabilities.







Sunbeam Developmental Resource Centre is the single point of access to developmental services for children in the Region of Waterloo. SDRC (https://www.sdrc.ca) provides case management and clinical services to individuals with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders. SDRC also assists them and their caregivers in connecting with community services and support. SDRC’s services are available to children and adults with developmental disabilities in the Waterloo Region.

We are presently inviting applications for the position of Supervisor of Intake and Resource Consultation/Administration/Clinical Records. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday - Friday; with some flexibility required/on-call coverage, reporting to the Director of SDRC.

Major Responsibilities:

- Manage the Administration team and oversee the services they provide (Administrative Coordinator, Receptionist/Clinical Records, Information Resource Contact,





Prioritization Administrative Clerk and Service Coordination and Professional Services Assistant, Respite Coordination and Children’s Psychiatry Clinic)
- Manage the Intake/Resource program (Clinical Intake Worker, Children’s Intake Worker, Resource Consultants)
- Plan, organize, direct and control a menu of services for children accessing Foundational Family Services through the Ontario Autism Program (OAP)
- Manage the resources (human & fiscal) allocated to such programs and services or other programs and services that might be developed and delivered
- Oversee the implementation of Trauma Informed Care within SDRC
- Oversee and monitor Health and Safety Services at SDRC
- Provide staff training on a wide range of topics
- Supervise, on average, 10 staff members.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications:

- The skills and knowledge required for this position are normally associated with the completion of a University Degree in a field of Social Services or Health.
- Several years of progressively responsible experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity.
- Experience in service provision with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities/Autism Spectrum Disorder
- Sound knowledge of current service system operations and functions
- Sound knowledge of local services and resources available to people with disabilities
- A sound knowledge of the theories and practices of social, behavioural and health disciplines and their relationship to people with disabilities,





to plan services and evaluate subordinates’ activities
- A sound knowledge of management systems, designs, analysis and evaluation, to guide in fiscal and human resource problem solving and decision making
- The ability to understand astutely the needs of persons with Intellectual Disabilities/ASD and their caregivers, and the dynamics of family/advocate demands, changing political and social trends, quality assurance standards, legal structures, the rights of individuals, and community attitudes, as they all relate to maintaining optimal delivery of programs and other services
- Familiarity with the Services and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, Child, Youth, and Family Services Act, Regulated Health Professions Act,





Personal Health Information Protection Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Mental Health Act, various other federal and provincial legislation, directives and guidelines, corporation by laws, policies and procedure
- The ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form, with all levels of staff, external consultants, parents/advocates, agents of other organizations and the general public, with people from various cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- The skills necessary to maintain harmonious working relationships with others in a multi-disciplinary agency
- The ability to plan, organize, supervise,





direct and control for those initiatives within and outside the organization that fall within the incumbent’s span of control; the ability to give and take direction; the ability to contribute effectively in the preparation of policies, procedures, budgets, etc.; and the ability to provide timely and insightful advice to the Director SDRC
- Ability to build collaborative, proactive and client-focused relationships to facilitate and maximize personal outcomes
- Possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license and a clean driving record
