Our valued Telecommunications client is seeking a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to support the secure development, testing, and release of code!

Initial 6-month contract opportunity. Candidates with the ability to work in a hybrid model in Ottawa, ON will be prioritized however remote options will also be available.

Responsibilities:

1. Testing, selection and implementation of technology and tools for SaaS, IaaS and on-prem systems to support the secure development, test,





and release of internal code.
2. Support the end-to-end automation of deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management in both cloud and on-prem environments.
3. Define and implement build, deployment, and monitoring standards of new CI/CD pipelines.
4. Build and deployment of security utilities and tools for internal use.
5. Automation of DevOps processes, tooling and test suites as required.
6. Monitor system operations and act to troubleshoot, diagnose and provide solutions to ensure availability, capacity, and optimal performance.
7. Embed and intensely collaborate with Development teams on DevSecOps processes and best practices.
8. Collaborate with the Cyber team to ensure adherence to best practices with overall code and systems security, as well as document risks to tools and systems.
9. Work closely with product owners to align product security needs and remediate security flaws.
10.





Collaborate with the QA and IVV teams to ensure test cases and metrics are automated and provide appropriate metrics and logging.
11. Respond to complex issues and major incidents. Work with other operational teams to ensure issues are tracked and closed in a timely manner.
12. Mentor and train other staff on more complex and/or critical procedures and items pertaining to DevOps and SRE.
13. Stay up to date with current security trends and evolution of cloud systems and tooling.
14. Perform occasional after-hours maintenance on production systems.
15. Incident on-call rotation as required.
16. Day-to-day operational support.

Must have skills:

1. Significant experience working with code and artifact repos such as Gitlab, Artifactory, GitHub, and ACR.
2. Experience supporting dynamic (DAST) or static application security testing (SAST).
3.





Significant experience in scripting (e.g., PowerShell, bash) and/or in coding/programming with languages such as Python.
4. Experience in the deployment of environments in Azure.
5. In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes deployment and support on on-premises environments and within Azure (AKS).
6. Significant experience in automation tooling (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
7. Experience in performance tuning of Linux kernel, memory and filesystem parameters.
8. Significant experience in the deployment and support of Linux and Microsoft Windows.

Nice to have skills:

1. Industry certifications in Azure, Agile and/or Security (e.g. CISSP, CISM,





etc.).
2. Working knowledge of security principles and securing systems.
