About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Assistant Manager or designate,





the Maintenance Worker I performs a variety of unskilled tasks related to the upkeep of Nova Scotia Health facilities, including but not limited to completing general maintenance, moving infrastructure related equipment, providing assistance to specialized trades (e.g. carpentry, plumbing, etc.), and other related duties In addition to carrying out general maintenance duties on a rotating shift basis within various Nova Scotia Health facilities as directed by site supervisor. The Maintenance Worker I will be required to perform building quality assurance rounds, as well as tasks in the areas of construction, installation, inspection of structure, and mechanical and equipment troubleshooting and repair. The Maintenance Worker I will be required to abide by the Nova Scotia Health policies and procedures,





and is required to maintain record keeping in relation to maintenance duties including work orders, material requisitions, and inspection forms etc.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

- Grade 12 education or equivalent
- Certificate or training towards a licensed trade will be considered an asset
- Experience on farm type tractor or other grounds maintenance/ snow removal equipment considered an asset
- 3 months demonstrated hands-on related experience in a commercial or industrial setting
- Travel to other sites may be required.
- Capable and willing to learn new skills and to participate in on-the-job training in order to work on specialized equipment
- Knowledge of required tools, equipment, and materials,





and ability to use them effectively.
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
