OVERVIEW
Reporting to the IT Project Director – Redevelopment in the Information Management and Technology (IMT) portfolio, the IT Project Manager (PM) – Redevelopment will manage the planning, designing, integration, and implementation of the various technologysystems at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH). Key responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:
- Manage the information technology projects,
- Facilitate the introduction of new technologies or evolution of existing technology,
- Assist with integration as well as technical and functional requirements of the systems and provide support for transition to new systems.
- Facilitate and participate in project meetings with hospital stakeholders, IT vendors, etc.
- Develop operational policies and procedures to support operations of the IT systems
- Review service alignment of technology across all areas within MGH to ensure seamless operations across the MGH campus.
EDUCATION
- Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, Business or Hospital Administration
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 5 years experience leading projects, preferably in a health care environment, with a leadership role in the implementation of IT systems.
- Demonstrated success in managing IT-related projects in health care settings including planning, designing and implementation.
- Experience with databases, systems and network management, telecommunications, desired.
- Superior interpersonal skills,
excellent verbal and written communication skills and extensive experience with change management.
- Knowledge of hospital operations, and the ‘bigger picture’ in order to leverage interdependencies and opportunities to enhance operations for a successful launch.
- Strong team player with the ability to lead, influences, and solve problems as they arise within diverse functional groups.
- Experience working with vendors and contracts, desired.
- Ability to resolve conflicting high-priority requirements
- Ability to communicate the needs of others effectively
- Good work and attendancerecord required.
