This client of Robert Half is a dynamic, growth-oriented, leading North American provider of diversified environmental solutions. As a result of their ongoing growth, this role has been created to lead and drive operational excellence across all areas of Cash Applications functions. The Senior Manager, Cash Applications, is responsible for overseeing all cash application processes, ensuring that all payments are accurately and efficiently applied to customer accounts. This role will manage a team of cash application specialists, driving process improvements, maintaining strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. They will be responsible for day-to-day activities,
setting strategic objectives for the team and lead the team
Responsibilities
Cash Application Management
o Plan, evaluate, implement and continuously improve Cash Applications functions to enhance efficiency and build out standard best in class processes.
o Collaborate, address and work closely with the AR, customer service teams and other internal stakeholders to resolve any discrepancies related to cash application issues
o Ensure all activities and processes are compliant with internal control requirements and prescribed accounting policies.
o Perform monthly analysis on KPI metrics to ensure processing timelines are being met.
o Update policies, procedures and SOX control matrices to ensure they are reflective of current state.
o Perform both internal and external audits.
o Lead or participate in initiatives aimed at optimizing cash application processes and integrating new technologies.
Financial Management
o Apply strong financial acumen to collaborate with various teams to support accurate cash forecasting and financial alignment.
o Play a vital role in bank reconciliations and support the bank rec teams.
o Generate and review cash application reports, offering insights on performance trends and improvement areas.
o Collaborate with the finance team to support accurate GL postings and accounting functions.
o Prepare and present monthly reporting to Senior Management on the status of cash application processing end to end: subledger to GL
Compliance and Continuous Improvement:
o Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and relevant regulations in all cash application activities.
o Conduct regular audits of cash application processes and implement necessary corrective actions.
o Keep cash application procedure documentation current and accessible.
o Identify opportunities to enhance the cash application process and implement improvements to boost efficiency and accuracy.
o Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Accounting or related field
o Minimum 7+ years’ experience leading A/R functional areas (Cash Application)
o In-depth knowledge of cash application processes, financial controls, and best practices
o Track record of building strong performing teams.
o Strong proficiency in MS Office.
o Technical aptitude for learning various systems and applications.
o Communicate clearly, concisely, professionally and convey active listening and openness.
o Ability to analyze information and map out plans to complete and execute
o Overcome obstacles to get the job done, identify problems and recommend solutions.
o See change positively and adapt quickly to change in work environments.
o Produce accurate work with attention to detail and consistently meet deadlines.
o Excellent organizational skill, self-motivated and able to manage a high volume of tasks.
o Experience in large, high-volume organizations, preferably with M& A.
o Experience in process automation and continuous improvement within a finance environment.
