Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Representative to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction , with a focus on generating new business opportunities, maintaining client relationships, and driving growth in both commercial and residential project development. The role will be based in Ottawa , and candidates must have prior experience working in the regions construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities in the commercial construction sector, including office buildings, retail, and industrial projects, with an additional focus on residential project development .
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients, acting as the main point of contact to ensure client satisfaction and project success.
- Sales Strategy: Develop and execute sales strategies aimed at expanding the company's portfolio in both commercial and residential markets.
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify industry trends, opportunities, and competitors in the Ottawa construction market, and leverage insights to enhance business development efforts.
- Proposal Development: Prepare and present proposals, bids, and presentations to prospective clients, showcasing the company's strengths and capabilities in commercial and residential construction projects.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including project managers, estimators, and site supervisors, to align business development goals with project execution.
- Account Management:
Oversee ongoing projects to ensure they meet client expectations, resolve issues as they arise, and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to represent the company and grow its network within the Ottawa construction community.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development within the commercial construction sector.
- Proven experience in residential project development is a strong asset.
- Strong understanding of the Ottawa construction market and a track record of developing business in the region.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies that align with company goals.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a client-centric approach to managing relationships.
- Experience preparing and presenting proposals, bids, and reports to clients.
- Familiarity with construction project management and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Proficient in CRM systems and sales tracking software.
