As a Nurse Practitioner with this program, you will play a vital role in delivering wholistic care to patients, addressing their physical, social, psychological, and spiritual needs.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our Addictions Medicine team. In this role,
you will provide primary/acute care to patients accessing acute substance use stabilization beds at St. Paul's Hospital, with a focus on their non-addiction related medical issues. You will also provide professional guidance to other healthcare professionals, working autonomously and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primary/acute care to patients accessing acute substance use stabilization beds
- Provide professional guidance to other healthcare professionals
- Collaborate with patients and healthcare professionals to identify trends and patterns that impact the community's health
- Participate in evidence-based strategies to improve healthcare services
- Make referrals to specialists, allied health providers, physicians, and other resources as necessary

Requirements
- Current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals
- Recent relevant clinical nursing experience or interest in substance use care
- Comfort and ability to support addiction medicine care needs of patients
- Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to trauma-informed care and culturally safe care
- Successful completion of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE)
- Completion of the Basic Cardiac Life Support Course, Level C
