Location: Remote with occasional in-person work in our co-working space in downtown Toronto.

Brief Description of the Role:
FinChat, a leading provider of generative AI for finance, is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer (with an emphasis on back end development), to join our Development team, specifically to focus on our AI and data technologies.
Help scale our data offering and push FinChat towards becoming a leader in the Financial Data space. Enhance our AI tools and our API architecture to build a world class Financial Copilot. Your expertise will contribute to building generative AI solutions for our customers using our infrastructure.
The candidate will experience working in a unique fast-growing startup at the forefront of technology and finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build a best in class Enterprise AI Solution
- Work to scale up/optimize/innovate on our FinChat Enterprise product (A white-labeled AI Chat experience for our Enterprise partners), our Copilot API and our AI tools on FinChat.io.
- Research the latest AI tools/technology and implement them to improve this product.
- Assist our Junior/Intermediate developers when they encounter difficult tasks/bugs.
- Help onboard and train our Junior/Intermediate developers to help level up our dev teams skills.
- Build/test/ideate on new features from our AI and Enterprise roadmap.
Propel our data initiatives
- Build out automated AI tools to assist with data processing
- Develop tools to build out a robust quality assurance process
- Work with the internal data team on an ad hoc basis to pursue other important initiatives
Own our product development roadmap
- Work directly with our CTO/CPO to ideate/research and execute high priority items from our product roadmap
- Work on large/high level tasks which directly affect the performance/profitability/growth of FinChat.
Explore/Research and Innovate
- Research the latest and greatest technologies in AI, Web Development, Databases and more. Help our team stay ahead of the pack by considering what new technologies will help our team/product as we grow.
Develop our AI Infrastructure with our team
- Test/experiment with different AI models
- Enhance speed/performance of our AI tools
- Build new functionality and features for all our AI products
Requirements
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate should have:
- 4+ years experience in an engineering/development role
- Proven experience/interest in Investing/Finance! Our platform is built for Investors by Investors so everyone on our team is expected to carry some Investment knowledge/experience.
This role has a particularly large emphasis on this person understanding more advanced data/concepts in the Finance space.
- Proven experience/interest in AI technologies/LLM’s.
- Strong knowledge of handling structured and unstructured data.
- Be able to work independently, problem solve and communicate well.
- Eager to work in a unique fast-growing startup.
Requirements: Typescript, Experience with LLM’s, Experience with APIs
Nice To Haves: Machine Learning background, React, Tailwind, Node, NextJS, Experience with Cloudflare, Firestore/Firebase, SQL

it would be beneficial for the candidate to have:
- Software developer consulting experience.
