Seniors, Community and Social Services provides supports for seniors, families, and communities,





and helps Albertans access disability services, financial supports, affordable housing, services for the homeless, and other social-based programs. The Ministry supports Albertans through a person-centered, integrated service delivery model that recognizes the unique circumstances, experiences and strengths of individuals and families.

Role Responsibilities

The Office of the Public Guardian and Trustee (OPGT) is looking for an ambitious administrative professional that is interested in making a meaningful impact by contributing to the well-being of vulnerable Albertans.

OPGT invites you to explore an exciting career opportunity at our Calgary office. As a crucial member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with Public Trustee Representatives, supervisors, lawyers, tax officers, and other professional stakeholders, to support Public Trustee clients. As an Assistant, Trust Administration, your focus will be on providing support to the Public Trustee team in the day-to-day administration of estates and trusts,





spanning areas such as represented adults, deceased estates, and official guardian files.

As a confident and organized self-starter with a passion for streamlined processes, you will be responsible for:

- Administrative Assistance to Support Case Management - researching information, contacting clients, family members and other stakeholders for information, preparing correspondence and other documentation.
- Financial Administration - Reviewing and authorizing payments on behalf of clients within the scope of authority and reconciling invoices.
- Legal Work - Preparing court applications and other legal documents.
- Other Responsibilities – Undertaking a diverse range of responsibilities, such as completing benefit applications,





creating family trees, dictation, creating and maintaining spreadsheets to collect data and monitor workflow.

Qualifications

Required:
High school diploma combined with a minimum of 3 years' related experience providing administrative support for one of the following areas:







- Office administration experience. Legal or financial administration in an estates or trust office and/or Social Services administration would be preferred.
- Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint).
- Experience in supporting a high-volume program area.

Assets:

- Experience working with vulnerable populations.

Equivalency:
Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of:

- One year of experience for one year of education; or
One year of education for one year of experience.
