Position Overview:
Entrust is seeking a Software Development Manager to join our R&D; organization to lead our one of our PKI software development teams. The position reports to the Director of PKI Development and is based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The job incumbent will also work closely with the Entrust PKI team in Spain.
Responsibilities:
Product Leadership:
- Executes all aspects of an agile, secure, software development lifecycle – from inception to delivery.
- Manages multiple concurrent development projects and provides input to long term planning.
- Active participation in requirement definition, working closely with the product management team.
- Coordinates and manages additional resources from other teams or external companies to handle project peaks.
- Demonstrates technical leadership, fosters innovation, and delivers high quality secure software on time and on budget.
- Acts as a level 3 escalation point for customer issues identified in product components.
- Liaises with Documentation, Quality Assurance and Security Assurance Team Leads.
- Supports external cross-functional teams such as Product Management, Customer Support, Sales, Intellectual Property, and Legal.
- Provides timely updates to the PKI Development and Product Management leadership team.
People Leadership:
- Provides strong organizational and people leadership skills.
- Hires, grows and retains talent to ensure delivery to goals and objectives.
- Leads through the demonstration of Entrust core values.
- Demonstrates high sense of ethics and accountability.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics or a proven track record in management and/or leadership of commercial software releases.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a team lead, developing commercial software using agile methodology.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading and mentoring virtual teams
- Minimum 5 years of experience in core PKI products.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience with Cloud development, SaaS, DevOPS and AWS environment
- Minimum 3 years’ experience with GoLang based application services
- Demonstrated success in hiring and developing talent.
- Proficiency of written and verbal English language.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish is an asset.
- Experience managing offshore resources is an asset
- Experience with Kanban methodology is an asset
