Role: Assistant Manager, Distribution Center

WHAT YOU’LL DO
You'll take charge of guiding your team to achieve daily goals and keep operations running smoothly. To succeed, you'll leverage your collaborative leadership to build strong, effective partnerships with your Team Leaders and colleagues. You'll contribute to developing operational strategies for the distribution center alongside other Assistant Managers and the Distribution Center Manager.
Once the strategies are in place, you’ll take action, providing your teams with clear direction and support to meet their objectives.
A few highlights of the role:
- You’ll be the go-to person for supervising team leads and handlers in your crew.
- You set performance goals for your teams and help them crush those targets.
- You’ll lead performance talks with your team members, keeping things on track.
- You will perform & implement quality control measures to ensure all shipments are done correctly to specific customer requirements (Value Added Services, Packaging & labeling)
- You'll make sure your departments follow all safety rules, keep the place in top shape, handle notices, and take care of admin tasks as needed by the Distribution Center Manager.
- You’ll jump in to help the Distribution Center Manager solve any operational hiccups.
- You keep the Distribution Center Manager in the loop on how your departments are doing and bring solutions to the table when challenges pop up.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

- Practical knowledge of general distribution center operations.
- Previous knowledge and skills with a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Great communication skills in French and English, needed to lead a team with different personalities and backgrounds
- Possess organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to perform physical activities at a steady pace in a distribution center environment.
- Knowledge of computer systems (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
