The Company
Globe 24-7 in partnership with a key client in West Africa is working together to source an experienced and qualified French Speaking Project Manager to join their team.
The Role
The successful candidate will lead the project team, coordinating all aspects of the mill construction. This role involves ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. The incumbent will work closely with the owners' team, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver a world-class facility.
The Responsibilities
- Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
- Team Leadership: Oversee a multidisciplinary project team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact between the owners' team, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
- Quality Control: Ensure all construction activities meet or exceed industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Health and Safety: Promote and enforce a culture of safety on-site, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Reporting: Provide regular progress updates to the owners' team, including financial reporting, schedule updates, and risk assessments.
- Contract Management: Oversee the negotiation and management of contracts with vendors and contractors.
The Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
A master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the mining or construction industry, with a proven track record in managing large-scale projects.
- Prior expat experience in developing countries
- Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
- Must have a project background in mining, ideally involving mills or plants.
- Proficient in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera). Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams in a challenging environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills,
with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
