What Is The Opportunity?
Aecon is seeking an IDD/BIM Director to join the Urban Transportation Solutions group to support dynamic transit projects in Canada.

What You Will Do Here:
- Overall accountability for ensuring BIM, GIS, and digital construction across project disciplines (Design, estimating, planning, construction) meets standards and contractual compliance.
- Provide leadership, support, and coordination across all technical work streams, during each stage of a project from design through to construction.
- Ensure delivery of BIM and GIS in accordance with Aecon's IDD BIM related processes and procedures.
- Ensure the right resourcing profile for the IDD teams on the project, based on the BIM goals set in the bid phase.
- Manage the link between the Clients BIM representatives, the consultant BIM team, Aecon (and any JV partner), and any sub-contractors BIM team.
- Ensure the BIM requirements set on the project support digital integration across all project functions.
- Report and manage the interfaces between engineering disciplines/design and construction/temporary and permanent works design activities through BIM.
- Ensure validation reports to verify Information Models in accordance with ISO 19650.
- Ensure projects BIM training matrix is developed to the project's needs and implemented accordingly.
- Management through contract obligations of consultants and supply chain Information Models and Delivery Plans.
- Drive an inclusive culture to promote equity, welcome different perspectives,
and enable career progression by fostering a sense of belonging.
What You Will Bring to The Team:
- 15+ years of experience leading engineering and IDD Functions in the construction industry.
- Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience/knowledge of Civil Construction practice.
- Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle.
- Experience of working within construction project environments.
- Experience of large complex projects in infrastructure would be desirable.
- Understanding design and construction phases and alignment with the Digital Plan of Works.
- On-site construction experience would be desirable.
- Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills, a passion for problem ownership, and a customer-first attitude.
- Proven experience in priority setting, multitasking, and working with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to travel to site, mobile for projects.
