OUR TEAM
The Spatial Data Services (SDS) team is responsible for keeping an accurate records of all construction and development activity occurring at both at the Calgary International and Springbank Airports,
while utilizing a variety of spatial technologies to share data company wide. We maintain and update an archive of spatial and technical facility record data, and provide graphic, drafting, and mapping support services for various business units at YYC and YBW.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Under the supervision of the Manager Spatial Data, you will utilize a variety of spatial technologies (primarily GIS)
to convert existing CAD data to GIS formats, and complete and track work requests for operational graphics, for internal and external stakeholders. You will also analyze technical data deliverables from construction projects managed both in-house and by tenants to incorporate relevant changes into updated record models that we use to manage our facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Perform creation, maintenance, and processing of datasets for our GIS system using ESRI software
- Convert CADD data to various GIS file formats using FME
- Collect and verify field data
- Create operational graphics
- Provide administrative support and other duties as required
WHAT YOU BRING
- Pursuing a diploma or degree in GIS Technologies or a similar discipline
- Highly enthusiastic individual that can take the initiative and effectively collaborate with multiple partners
- Ability to ensure high quality results and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience with AutoCAD software is an asset
- Experience with FME is an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Access and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio is considered an asset
- Ability to work effectively with a team as well as individually
- Strong organizational skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication
- Experience working in an office setting is an asset
WHAT ELSE?
- To qualify as a co-op or internship student,
you must be enrolled in a post-secondary program where a work term is a formal requirement of the program and provide documentation to that effect.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a restricted area identification card (RAIC).
- This role is eligible for our hybrid work model with a combination of onsite and remote work.
- Must be able to be present in the office and must be willing to relocate to Calgary or area (if necessary) for the start of the term and the duration of the placement
