Senior Solutions Architect to provide technical expertise for a number of new technologies on complex platformsfor a digital banking team - 35372
Location Address: Hybrid - Toronto - 2/week - Monday and Wednesday - mandatory days, there may be some other ad hoc days, please ensure candidates can come in
Contract Duration: 6 months (Possibility of extension)
Schedule Hours: 37.5 hrs/week
Story Behind the Need
- Business group: EA Portfolio Services - interact with other business partners in the Bank to govern technology product standards
- Project:
Work on developing and reviewing existing architecture governance processes and provide technical expertise on improving and designing/architecting processes along with building the reference architectures. Working on the Cyber and IT Risk remediation audit issues - looking at audit issues and phase of resolving
- As the Principal Architect, you will be responsible for managing a set of tasks and techniques used to work as a liaison among various stakeholders in order to understand the structure, policies, and operations of an organization, and to recommend architecture governance and technical / business solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals. you will be responsible for detailed technical specifications for a few new technologies on programs of high complexity for all platforms supported globally by Digital Banking. In addition, you will design solutions, improve processes, help closing audit issues and work with other solution architects and teams across the bank.
You will need to apply your deep technical knowledge to architect and deploy centrally or locally managed technology and solutions.
Typical Day in Role:
- Act as an expert technical resource for modeling, simulation and analysis efforts
- Assure quality security and compliance requirements are met for supported area
- Adapt to change quickly and adjust work accordingly in a positive manner
- You will be providing technical architectural designs solutions/reviews for Engineering projects/initiatives
- You will be partnering with key stakeholders such as Enterprise Information Systems, Information & Security Advisory, etc. to ensure proposed solutions align to business requirements, as well as appropriate bank technical and security standards or frameworks
- You will be producing technical solution documents, design/architecture diagrams, security design documentation as required to support new,
proposed or existing Engineering solutions
- You will be directing day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with our risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits and communicate it throughout the team.
- You will be delivering technical presentations or knowledge walkthroughs of existing and proposed application systems to various audiences including project team members, peer technology teams and management
- You will be providing suggestions for viable solutions to systems problems of high complexity
- You will be mentoring and coaching other team members on technical issues, set standards and architectural reviews
- You will be acting as an internal consultant on all architecture related items while participating in all phases of the project development life cycle
- Leverage industry best practices to design, test, implement and support a solution
Must Have Skills:
- 8-10 years of technical working experience in Consulting or Corporate Systems Development environments or equivalent
- 5+ years’ experience with system and application architecture solutions, development, maintenance, and support of a variety of banking/applications on different technologies and platforms
- 5+ years’ experience with web-based information technology principles, System Integration, Methodologies and Standards / Metrics.
- 5+ years’ experience in managing, facilitating, and governing architecture review boards
- Experience in an Agile environment
Nice-To-Have Skills:
- Experience with audit
- Experience with cross-group collaboration
- Knowledge/experience with Cyber and IT Risk
Education:
- Bachelors in technical field
Best VS. Average Candidate:
- Ideal candidate has all the requirements - strong must haves architecture experience, nice to have experience in audit and cyber- IT risk, and strong soft skills - need good verbal and written communication skills, ability to lead technical discussions, team collaborator/player attitude
