Please note, this position can be hired at either Senior Project Manager or Project Director level, depending on experience. The Project Director will be responsible for disseminating the main contract to the project team members for execution. You will plan, schedule, organise and evaluate multiple projects from start to finish. The Project Director oversees and resolves deficiencies, ensuring all project teams execute successfully and that projects are completed satisfactorily.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Manage one or more high value ($150 Million+), high-rise project sites.
2. Monitor project performance, schedule, costs, equipment, manpower, materials, safety and environment, and quality control.






3. Build and maintain excellent relationships with the project teams, trade contractors, architects, consultants, and clients.
4. Coordinate total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
5. Project planning and execution.
6. Conduct site tours, safety inspections and lead by example to ensure policies, procedures, and standards are adhered to.
7. Ensure comprehensive project close-out.
8. Manage project meetings.
9. Mentor, coach, supervise, and assess performance of direct reports and team members.
10. Assist in securing new work by participating in estimates, working with sub-contractors, and participating in proposals and presentation.
11. Lead negotiation of claims and disputes with the owner and sub-trades.

Required Skills & Experience:

1. A post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering or construction management.
2. A minimum of 10+ years progressive construction experience, including leadership and mentoring.
3. 8+ years relevant mid/high-rise project management experience.
4. Experience managing high-value projects ($100 Million+).
5. Project management of at least two full cycle, high value, high-rise builds.
6. Knowledge of different construction methods, sequencing, problem solving, and timelines.
7.





Familiarity with construction project management software programs, Jonas Premier, Plan Grid, Blue Beam.
8. Knowledge of relevant construction law and building codes.
9. Ability to troubleshoot problems related to construction, sequencing, and staffing.
10. 1-year estimating experience preferred.
11. Ability to be flexible and work in a fast-paced environment.
12. Ability to understand and employ engineering/construction plans/specifications, methods, and procedures.
13. Effective oral and written communication skills.
14. Ability to establish a good working relationship with many different people, including owners, other managers, designers, supervisors, and tradespeople.
15. Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
16. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Compensation:







The organisation is a major high-rise focused General Contractor with an excellent reputation and a presence across Eastern Ontario. A basic salary of up to $200,000 depending upon experience, along with an annual bonus and comprehensive company benefits including health/dental etc., and RRSP matching.
