Best West Pet Foods is a well-established retail pet store, committed to delivering exceptional customer service and expert advice to pet owners. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Assistant Manager to support the daily operations of our Brandon, MB location. The ideal candidate will be passionate about animals, possess excellent customer service skills and have the skills necessary to grow sales in a retail environment. As the Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the Store Manager to ensure the day-to-day operations of the store are running smoothly, provide expert guidance to our customers, control inventory levels to maximize profit, and help lead the rest of the team.
Duties to include:
-Provide exceptional customer service by offering knowledgeable advice and assistant to customers which will exceed their expectations.
-Develop and maintain strong product knowledge across all pet categories.
-Assist in overseeing daily operations including inventory management, merchandising and staffing.
-Ensure the store is well-organized, clean and visually appealing to customers.
-Motivate staff to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service.
-Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that reflects our company’s values.
Qualifications:
-Previous experience in a retail environment, preferable in a leadership role.
-Strong knowledge of pet care and pet products would be an asset.
-Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and increase sales.
-Must be outgoing, high-energy and customer focused.
-Proficient with computers including the use of Excel, email and POS systems.
-Ability to lift 50lbs comfortably and handle continuous, repetitive lifting.
-Commitment to complete Pet Store Pro, an online learning program, within the first 3 months of employment.
-Flexible, open availability, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
