Nursery School Educator
Hourly Rate: $26.96 Location: 410 Bronte Street South
This rate includes the Wage Enhancement Grant.
Hours: 24.75 hours/week Reports To: Supervisor, Licensed Child Care
Monday to Friday 8:45am to 1:30pm
Number of Vacancies: 1 Position Type: Contract to May 8, 2026

We’re looking for someone who:
- Has a strong understanding of legislative and municipal requirements including the CCEYA and current
public health guidelines.
- Has experience developing and implementing an inquiry-based program following the Reggio Emilia
philosophy and guided by the interests of the children.
- Can build upon the foundational knowledge of the “How Does Learning Happen?” and “Think Feel Act”
documents and the Developmental Relationships Framework.
Every day, you will encourage purposeful play and build upon the interests of children by:
- Creating warm, welcoming interactions that protect the health, security and well-being of children.
- Being culturally sensitive and endeavoring to remove all barriers which prevent acceptance and
accessibility for children in the classroom
- Being committed to raising quality care indicators through participating in the Quality First model.
- Supporting inclusion of children with special needs, working collaboratively with their parents/caregivers
and early childhood specialists
- Developing and implementing an emergent curriculum applying core concepts of a Reggio inspired
philosophy.
- Creating an atmosphere which builds upon individual learning styles, interests, and celebrates the cultural
and ethnic diversity of the children and their families
- Maintain accurate daily record keeping of attendance sheets, daily logbooks, accident reports and illness
reports, medical forms, administration of medication forms, emergency procedures and actions and
display in classroom as appropriate.
Prior to employment the successful candidate will have:
- A degree/diploma in Early Childhood Education
- Proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators
- Current Standard First Aid/CPR C certification from a WSIB approved training partner
- Criminal record check with vulnerable sector screen dated within past six months
- Dated immunization records for MMR, DTP, Polio and 1 step TB test
- Valid Safe Food Handling certification considered an asset.
