we have funded over $4 Billion in Mortgages through THINK alone and have no plans on slowing down! Your Role: We are growing fast! Our THINK Financial team is looking to add an Underwriter to the team (our underwriters are called THINKers). This role is responsible for reviewing and verifying mortgage applications from the approval stage to the instruction stage. This includes ensuring the applications are acceptable as per THINK Financial guidelines, policies and procedures as well as AML/ATF guidelines. There are many paths to success... Just as we customize solutions for our clients, we provide our Underwriters with the tools they need to promptly and effectively support our national team. The ideal candidate is smart, detailed orientated, is client focused and keen to be a part of something great! Must Haves and The Work:
- Ability to work independently to solve problems but also be able to work as a team member with other THINK Underwriters and Closers as well as our partners the True North Mortgage Agents and Mortgage Insurance Partners
- Fast paced environment,
must be able to keep current with changes with lenders and the real estate market
- History of delivering an extraordinary experience for your clients (internal and external) with a focus on results
- Strong decision-making skills to convey solutions to areas of concern
- Review and verify the accuracy of mortgage application submissions using due diligence and in compliance with Internal Regulatory Guidelines and Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Guidelines.
- Document clear and concise notes within the mortgage underwriting system
- Provide timely and accurate credit decisions.
- Proven ability handling difficult situations and use of good judgement based on experience and knowledge
- Experience in the Mortgage or Real Estate Business an asset
- 2-5 years previous Mortgage Underwriting experience
- Intermediate MS Office tools such as Word, Excel, Outlook and Slack
