Your Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Consultant who will provide strategic analytical advice and leads projects in data analytics, reporting, data science, applied research, and machine learning. This role involves managing data and developing performance measures and supporting senior management with insights into performance and outcomes.







Major Responsibilities:

Data Analytics and Research
• Perform on-demand, large-scale exploratory and targeted data research and analysis using Implement detailed plans and recommend policies/procedures regarding program-specific requirements.
• Conduct research into assigned areas, considering field developments, corporate policies, legislation, and initiatives by other government levels.
• Perform data analysis, develop performance measures, and create decision support information from operational systems, surveys, and third-party data sources.
• Lead and implement data mining projects, including trends analysis and the development of programs and queries for performance-related metrics.
• Develop service standards and performance measures.
• Develop, maintain, and implement data management, deployment, and use strategy for the division with a focus on employing existing data assets in new ways and leveraging novel, dynamic data sources for evidence-based decision-making.







Program Development and Management
• Prioritize and oversee business intelligence program development, integrating data to support performance management, case management, and outcome reporting.
• Provide recommendations that contribute to divisional/City initiatives and the effective use of human, fiscal, and IT assets and services.
• Prepare reports for management on changes in business technology solutions, methods, and processes, including staffing levels and resource allocation.
• Support senior management in interpreting performance/outcome data and developing measures to support strategic objectives.

People Leadership & Relationship Management
• Lead and supervise a team, providing training in data gathering, use, and analytics.






• Foster successful relationships with divisional staff and partners through consultation, mediation, and communication.
• Develop and implement data collection, management, analysis, and dissemination strategies with partners.

Key Qualifications

Educational and Professional Background
• Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Data Management) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Considerable experience leading projects in data analytics, reporting, data science, applied research, machine learning, or a related field.

Data Management and Technical Expertise
• Considerable experience managing data within the Microsoft SQL Server environment and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).






• Considerable experience leading BI and Data governance projects, with a strong focus on data quality, metadata management, and business intelligence (analytical data processing strategies, standards, policies, and best practices).

• Proficiency in AI skills is a valuable asset for this position.

Analytical and Strategic Thinking
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to evaluate information, identify and analyze issues, and develop actionable recommendations.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, manage high-volume workflows, and oversee numerous projects simultaneously.

Leadership and Communication Skills
• Outstanding interpersonal, verbal,





and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and business audiences and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Exceptionally self-motivated and directed approach, with a keen attention to detail and organization.
