What you can expect from this position:

Reporting to the Associate Director, Gating & Airport Flow, this position will oversee the assignment of all aircraft stand & gate allocations, check-in counters, and dynamic flight information displays and messaging. The Manager will work closely with Manager Operations, Airport Flow (MO-AF) and Functional Managers to develop and/or modify procedures, policies, and processes.

As Manager, Resource Management Unit, you will:

- Manage, engage, coach and guide the Resource Allocation team to foster a unified and effective team environment to achieve group and individual accountabilities
- Develop and manage annual budget and business plans aligned to the Corporate Strategic Plan
- Shared accountability with Manager Operations,





Airport Flow for operations related to stand allocation, budget requirements and goal achievement
- Coordinate with key stakeholders to leverage the effective use of aircraft stands/gates and check-in counters
- Drive consistent use of process to ensure that service levels are achieved
- Manage allocation processes associated with day of resources required by customers for check-in counters, stand plans and assignment, dynamic flight information displays to facilitate smooth passenger transitions
- Develop training plans and oversee quality management
- Support irregular and scheduled bussing operations
- Support event management (IMS)
- Maintain collaborative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders






- Analyze operational activity and implement operational solutions
- Provide data analysis and reporting on resource allocations to Functional Managers
- Be a customer centric leader with respect to the mission, vision, values and beliefs

The salary for this management position is competitive based on the successful candidate’s qualifications.

This is the role for you, if you have:

- Post-secondary degree or diploma (an equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered)
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in an airport environment
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in people management
- Demonstrated experience working in a customer centric environment






- Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position

Knowledge and skills you bring, that set-you up for success:

- In depth knowledge of stand and check-in allocation
- Strong understanding of airline, inspection agency, passenger process & baggage handling procedures as they relate to Service Delivery
- Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate cross functionally in a unionized environment, as well as with external stakeholders to achieve results
- Solid business acumen and business improvement mindset to resolve immediate issues and to identify trends, provide recommendations and plans and implement corrective actions
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening)





to effectively reach a broad audience of internal and external customers, guests and other key stakeholders
- Ability to anticipate and support the “day of” operational team as required ensuring TPIA has a successful day
- Proven relationship management skills with internal and external stakeholders
- Strong decision-making skills and demonstrates a sense of urgency to deliver operational excellence
- Ability to successfully manage under pressure and respond to critical, conflicting and or changing priorities throughout the day in a diplomatic manner
- Knowledge of all GTAA policies including but not limited to SMS, Public Safety, Security, SeMS, IMS practices, environmental policies, Workplace Health & Safety, and all other governances through Transport Canada






- Knowledge of computer applications including database, spreadsheets and internet-based software, airline and airport operations, industry terminology, airport processes and passenger flows, counters, and baggage belts
- Strong operational understanding of Airport Collaborative Decision Making (A-CDM) requirements and procedures
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment in a customer-centric environment
- Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm and initiative when attempting to avoid conflict or inconvenience to tenants and the public
- Excellent skills using MS Office (Outlook, Excel) and SharePoint and an ability to learn and use complex IT systems
- Ability to meet deadlines with competing interests of various departments






- Strong ability to concentrate and to handle multiple priorities with excellent attention to detail while under pressure in a challenging and dynamic environment
