About the role you’ll play
You are a well rounded marketing professional who is a natural born storyteller. You will plan, implement and measure digital communications across Landscape Ontario’s and Landscape Trades’ websites, email campaigns and social media platforms.
You have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and strategies and are able to lead integrated digital marketing campaigns from concept to execution. You are passionate about connecting with our community where they are. You are the connector between the many initiatives we are working on and our engaged community.
About You
You are a creative, strategic, caring and service-oriented individual with a passion for digital marketing. Working closely with the entire team at Landscape Ontario and reporting to the Director of Communications, you will be the driving force behind digital communications at Landscape Ontario — promoting our brand, driving new membership and deepening engagement with existing members. You are serious about having fun in a busy, fast-paced environment and love having lots of projects on the go.
You will act as a strategic member of the Communications team, planning, coordinating and executing on all digital marketing activities including all social media channels,
our website and paid digital advertising, as well as the potential to work with digital influencer campaigns, website analytics, SEO and digital newsletters.
You are detailed and service oriented, with a passion for marketing. You have a solid history of planning, managing and implementing successful digital marketing strategies for live events, that include social media, email campaigns and SEO. You are an energetic team player who is also self-reliant.
Digital Marketing Specialist Responsibilities
Websites
- Conduct regular SEO audits of our web properties
- Analyze and report on web traffic statistics across our websites
- Participate in content development and production for Landscape Ontario’s trade and consumer facing websites.
- Utilize Google Ads to promote LO websites/content.
- Create landing pages, event registration pages, update content as needed
Social Media
- Execute Landscape Ontario’s and Landscape Trades’ social media and marketing strategies. Develop and implement a social media content strategy and content schedule.
- Be the voice of Landscape Ontario and Landscape Trades on social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Execute ad buys on social media to promote events, magazines, membership and other programs as needed. Measure ROI for ad campaigns.
- Increase engagement across our social media channels. Measure and optimize engagement/audience growth.
- Engage with industry influencers and advocates.
- Cultivate relationships with association partners to deliver shared content.
- Produce related marketing materials (member, exhibitor, advertiser and consumer), from copy and design through to delivery.
- Develop original content for social platforms.
- Attend various Landscape Ontario events to cover for social media and websites.
Email
- Design, edit, manage, test and schedule emails and email marketing campaigns based on frequency and volume relative to the intended audience
- Properly develop responsive, accessible and compliant emails for distribution
- Develop and maintain branded email templates
- Work with all departments to assemble e-mail communications including content and graphics.
- Analyze email marketing statistics (open rates,
click rates etc.) and develop and implement strategies to continuously improve Landscape Ontario’s email communications.
- Assist in the coordination of the weekly Landscape Ontario eNews and monthly Landscape Trades Essentials newsletters, including editorial content and the ads. Analyze and report ad performance to sales staff and/or clients as needed.
Digital Remarketing & Retargeting
- Plan and execute digital remarketing campaigns to promote Landscape Ontario’s events and programs. Analyze and report campaign performance to the Director of Communications.
- Implement digital retargeting campaigns for LO advertising clients. Analyze and report campaign performance.
Digital Marketing Specialist Requirements
- Preferably 2-3 years professional experience in digital communications
- University degree or related education in marketing and/or communications
- Experience using Google Workplace
- Proficiency with web and social media monitoring and analytic tools, such as Google Analytics, and experience tracking, monitoring and measuring social media and web campaigns
- Strong understanding of social media platforms, and best practices for content development and community engagement.
- Experience buying social media ads (Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter), as well as analyzing and reporting campaign performance.
- Experience with email marketing tools, such as MailChimp (Hubspot preferred)
- Knowledge of social media for business and influence marketing tactics
- Excellent copywriting and marketing communication skills
- Proven ability to generate content for a variety of audiences
- Highly organized and able to plan and execute multiple concurrent campaigns
- Comfortable working in a complex team environment where many people are competing for their time and expertise
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) is an asset.
- A dynamic team player who is diplomatic, customer-service oriented and able to resolve conflicts.
